For The Music Concert Series featuring Chris Cummings & Aaron Pritchett!!

The line up for Chris Cummings’ inaugural For The Music concert series was announced today with tickets going on sale at 12:00 noon.

The concert series, intended to bring big hits and the artists who make them to small Maritime towns, features country music hit-maker Chris Cummings (The Kind of Heart That Breaks, Betty) along with Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett (Hold My Beer, Big Wheel). The 3 night series will entertain crowds beginning Thursday, November 17 in Sussex, NB at Sussex Regional High School Auditorium, Friday, November 18 in New Glasgow, NS at Summer Street Industries, and Saturday, November 19 in St. Stephen, NB at St. Stephen Middle School Auditorium.

The events in New Brunswick are hosted by MusicNB 2011 award winning singer/songwriter Mike Biggar and country music singer turned media personality Stephanie Beaumont plays host for the concert in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

Accompanying the stellar line up of artists are accomplished musicians based on Canada’s east coast, bassist/writer/producer Ed Woodsworth from Nova Scotia, and guitar player/producer/arranger Mike Bourgeois from New Brunswick. Rounding out the on-stage musicians is up & coming New Brunswick based guitar player Matt Mazerolle.

“Since I moved back to NB from Nashville a couple years ago, I’ve seen lots of great country music acts coming to this area, however, they all go to the larger cities or perform at festivals, never in the smaller communities.” Cummings said. “I wanted to do something to bring great Canadian country music to people in the smaller towns and that is how this idea grew.”

“This idea is different in a lot of ways, one being that the show pairs the guest Canadian country music star with backing musicians based here in the Maritimes, they don’t bring their own musicians” he added “I wanted to try to help the talented musicians based on the east coast make connections with touring Canadian country acts like Aaron, it is good for everyone involved.”

In another effort to give back, the For The Music concert series will be held in school auditoriums. Chris explains, “It’s a way to help the schools financially, in fact, to help them even more, we’re giving a portion of every ticket we sell back to the schools that we are visiting.”

“With Aaron’s country-rock based sound, and my more traditional songs, I think it will appeal to a wide-range of people that come to the show. It will an unbelievable concert series, you’re going to want to be front and centre, so grab your tickets fast.” says Cummings.

Aaron Pritchett, a multi-CCMA award winning country artist commuting all the way from BC to take part in this event, will perform his many hit singles and share a few stories with Maritime audiences in an intimate acoustic set.

Chris Cummings is a multi-CCMA & JUNO nominated singer/songwriter originally from New Brunswick.

Chris recently completed his 3rd painting for the Kidney Foundation of Canada’s campaign A Brush Of Hope.

A Brush of Hope campaign is a yearly event where celebrities (radio, TV, sports) from across Canada put paint brush to canvas to create one-of-a-kind masterpiece paintings that are auctioned off in October on eBay.ca. People from across the world can have a chance to own a very special piece of artwork from some of Canada’s most famous citizens.

This is exciting news for me, 5 of my songs will appear in the soon to be released movie SERVITUDE

The movie stars Dave Foley (Kids In The Hall, News Radio), Margot Kidder (Superman), Aaron Ashmore (Smallville) and many others.

The songs appearing in the movie are previous singles In The Nicest Way and Hey What You Know from my last CD Who Says You Can’t? in addition to already released singles from my newest CD Give Me Tonight the first single Heart Like A Stone and the title track Give Me Tonight and Till I See You Smile which we plan to release later this fall.

Country fans across Canada should be familiar with the work of Servitude’s Director Warren P. Sonoda. Warren has been the Director of the last five videos I have done over the past few years. Warren has been the Director for many other well known music artists and many movies like Puck Hogs, Cooper’s Camera, and Textuality.

Many of 3000+ people from the Saint John, New Brunswick area that took part in the filming of the Welcome Back video will remember Warren from the four days he spent with us in Saint John in 2008 directing the filming of the video.
